Sheep wool is durable, natural, renewable material that repels dirt. Our new rugs are washed after they are ready and vintage rugs are washed before they are shipped.
Often wiping with cloth and water is enough to get rid of dirt. You can also apply soap or wool cleaner
Especially the new rugs might leave off fluff so active vacuuming is recommended.
If you wash your rug at home, use slightly warm water and natural soap. You can step and walk on the rug and fold it into heaps while washing. It is important that after washing the rug will be completely dried preferably in the sun for a few days.
You can also take the rug to a professional rug cleaner if needed.
